The idea behind the windmills is supposed to be "green energy" that does not produce CO2. They are "against fossil fuels".
So there is a global movement against CO2. But that is a gas that nature is dependent on. If there is more CO2 in the air then the plants grow better and the forests grow better. It is a natural fertilizer that nature needs. Imagine if all countries, all governments focused on planting new forests. Then there wouldn´t be too much CO2 in the air. It would be consumed in the way it should be consumed. And in return, we get oxygen from the forests. And much more.
If we have taken down almost all forests on earth it is maybe not so strange that there is "too much" Co2 in the air. Maybe it is just the earth´s method to help nature to come back.
They want to build machines that are sucking out CO2 from the air. But we are already having things that take CO2 from the air = real trees and vegetables.
Engineers are not interested in planting trees - they prefer machinery because it is their job.
Growing algae is also a good option because it can also be done everywhere, even in a small aquarium.
Good idea, but it seems as if we will have to say goodbye to real nature. They do plant trees but it looks like monocultures.
About planting trees on Iceland.
Reforestation in Spain.
New research estimates that a worldwide
planting program could remove two-thirds of all the emissions from
human activities that remain in the atmosphere today, a figure the
scientists describe as “mind-blowing”.
Prof Tom Crowther at the Swiss university ETH Zürich, says that forest restoration is overwhelmingly more powerful than all of the other climate change solutions.”
Effective tree-planting could take place across the world, Crowther said: “The potential is literally everywhere – the entire globe.
